Programme Admissions Requirements for JUPAS
Candidates need to have Level 4 or above in HKDSE English Language. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively and fluently in both Cantonese and English. They are strongly advised to include their personal statement in English in the “Additional Information” of their JUPAS application and enter details about their other learning experiences or extra-curricular activities.
Programme Minimum Admissions Requirements for Non-JUPAS
Candidates with different educational backgrounds are required to satisfy the basic University Entrance Requirements which can be found from the HKU website "Non-JUPAS Admissions Scheme".
Application Procedures
JUPAS applicants
Secondary 6 students and candidates wishing to apply on the strength of their HKDSE results should apply through the Joint University Programmes Admissions System (JUPAS) using Programme Code 6157.
Selection for admission is based upon academic merit and interview performance.
Non-JUPAS applicants
Other candidates, e.g. from international schools, overseas or mature applicants, may apply directly to the University (Non-JUPAS) via the online application system at:
