Knowledge Exchange Spotlights

Ms Promail Leung and 11 Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Science (BEd&BSc) students who major in Physics jointly ran two online innovative workshops for in-service STEM teachers amid the fifth wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Dr Loh Ka Yee, Elizabeth and her team built a project entitled “Start from the Beginning – Chinese Supporting Scheme for Non-Chinese Speaking Students in Kindergarten”, which helps the youngest non-Chinese speaking students to give them a better start in life.

Mrs Kit Chan developed the Parental Support Programme that trains parents to help their children learn through play, and provides an invaluable mentoring experience to students in the Postgraduate Diploma in Education programme.

Dr Lo Yuen Yi was involved in the Jockey Club “Diversity at Schools” Project to transform the culture of Hong Kong schools so that they can cater for diverse learning needs, while still meeting the demands of the examination system.

HKU and Ocean Park signed an agreement pledging to deepen their collaboration on research initiatives and innovative education, which led to the launch of the inaugural Ocean Park International STEAM Education Conference, as well as a competition co-hosted by the Faculty of Education.
