Professional Partnership Schools (PPS) Scheme
The Professional Partnership Schools (PPS) scheme was first launched in the academic year 2008-2009 with the aim to foster joint venture between Professional Partnership Schools and the Faculty of Education, The University of Hong Kong. By joining the scheme, the schools and the Faculty mutually agreed to embrace a series of collaborative teachings, researches and services related to the Practicum of student-teachers and serving teachers, especially to provide sustained support to the Practicum of pre-service teacher training programmes, and nurture the professional development of student-teachers pursuing a professional qualification through initial teacher education.
Requirements from schools: to offer our Faculty 6 practicum places for a 3-year term during 2022-25.
Schools that are committed to the PPS Scheme will receive a tailored Certificate and have higher priority in joining the Faculty’s professional development events (e.g. ALiTE Leadership Series) as well as some exclusive activities (e.g. the school principals and leaders will be invited to the ALiTE Leadership Dialogues (with overseas scholars) to foster international exchange around leadership). We envision that the PPS scheme will not only enable our student-teachers to gain fuller and more fruitful experiences during their practicum, but will also strengthen the ongoing and long-term partnerships with the PPS and different stakeholders.
