Experiential Learning
Summerbridge Hong Kong 2025 Summer Internship (for UG students)
Founded in 1992, Summerbridge Hong Kong is a non-profit organisation which creates unique educational opportunities for highly motivated, but socioeconomically underprivileged secondary school students in Hong Kong. It provides comprehensive year-round English immersion programmes to develop students’ language communication, self-confidence and interest in the learning process through an intensive English Language Development curriculum, small class size, individual mentoring and hands-on learning strategies.
Summerbridge Hong Kong is currently recruiting passionate and enthusiastic students to join the 2025 Summer Programme as Student Teachers. Summerbridge student teachers are between the ages of 16 to 22 from high schools and universities around the world, such as the US, UK, Canada and Hong Kong SAR. They are a diverse group, bringing a variety of talents and backgrounds to the programme; some come with prior teaching experience while others teach for the first time. With the help and guidance from experienced teachers, student teachers commit to seven weeks of intensive teaching and community service, in which they complete teacher training, design their own curriculum, teach their own classes, administer programmes and evaluate student performance. Common to all student teachers is a desire to help young people, a commitment to both teaching and learning, and a willingness to work in a demanding yet highly rewarding environment that celebrates academic achievement, creativity, individuality and risk-taking.
Participation as a Student Teacher in the 2025 Summer Programme is a full-time commitment and runs from June 14 to August 8, 2025. More details about the teaching opportunity can be seen in this leaflet and the informational video about the summer experience.
Students who are interested in the programme please complete the application form. The deadline to apply is March 14, 2025. More information about the organisation can be found on our website at summerbridge.org.hk. We hope to see you this summer!
