Background of Co-organiser

 

Big Bang Academy redefines Science education for children of 3-12 years old. We build tech-enabled solutions to make STEAM learning effective, engaging and accessible. Our mission is to promote and inspire self-driven learning through everything hands-on. We believe doing Science is the best medium to ignite children’s passion in learning, to enable them to become motivated and life-long learners.

Objectives

 

  • To promote the STEAM hands-on learning experience to K-12 students
  • To help students find their spark

 

Project Details

 

  • Teach Science class to students ranging from kindergarten to primary in local and international schools, such as Canadian International School, Malvern College Hong Kong and Aldrich Bay Government Primary School

  • Coordinate with part-time and full-time teachers on the scheduling, ensuring adequate coverage for all science and STEM classes

  • Write and develop hands-on STEAM curriculum for K-12 students

  • Provide training and professional development opportunities for teachers to enhance their understanding and delivery of science and STEM curriculum

  • Assist in any ad-hoc tasks assigned

Eligibility

 

  • PGDE (full-time) students majoring in ​​Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Early Childhood Education
  • Preferably with Sexual Conviction Record Check and/or Standard First Aid Certification but not compulsory

    1. A personal statement (of not more than 200 words) explaining why you would like to join this EL project
    2. Your updated CV
  • Shortlisted students may be invited to attend an interview arranged by Big Bang Academy (details to be confirmed).
