Background of Co-organiser

 

TWGHs Wong Fung Ling College is an aided school located in Ma On Shan. In 2017, the innovative teacher of the Innopower@JC: Fellowship for Teachers and Social Workers programme, Ms Wong Pui Pui, introduced and developed the TWGHS Wong Fung Ling College Jockey Club MAKER+ Innovative Curriculum Programme (MAKER+). The primary objective of this programme is to address student learning motivation by incorporating elements such as “Learning by Doing” and “Design Thinking”. By immersing students in these activities, the programme aims to empower them and enhance their sense of ownership over their learning experience, ultimately facilitating a state of flow.

 

Objectives

 

The programme aims to cultivate students’ proficiency in 21st-century qualities and skills, such as curiosity, creativity, empathy, self-directed learning and resilience, through the application of design thinking and hands-on learning experiences.

 

Project Details

 

  • Assist in the development of reflection tools, team-building activities and teaching kits for specific cases or lessons
  • Aid in the general operation of the programme
  • Serve as group facilitators is classes to assist students in their learning journeys
  • Communicate with NGOs to explore opportunities for collaboration
  • Interns will have the opportunity to learn design thinking and acquire fundamental MAKER+ skills throughout the programme

 

Date

 

  • 23 September - 29 October 2024
  • Students are required to work five full days from 8:30am to 5pm (with an hour for lunch) per week, with site-visit activities on Saturday (max. once), if any.

Eligibility

 

All PGDE (full-time) students are welcome, with DAT/STEM/Humanities/Arts/BAFS background preferred.

  • Shortlisted students may be required to attend an interview with TWGHs Wong Fung Ling College (details to be confirmed).
