Experiential Learning at HKHS

 

Background of Co-organiser

 

The Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) is an independent, non-government and not-for-profit organisation established in 1948, providing quality housing for the people of Hong Kong. Incorporated by Ordinance in 1951, HKHS has implemented various housing schemes to meet the needs of niche markets. Governed by Members with a Supervisory Board and an Executive Committee made up of professionals coming from different sectors of the community, we have been serving the Hong Kong community with a social mission.

 

2023 is a special year for the Hong Kong Housing Society, as it marks the 75th anniversary of the organisation. Please refer to this website for information.

 

Project Details

 

Students will join the Corporate Communications Section of HKHS to assist in the following areas:

 

  • Assist in various community engagement activities such as Community ESG Programme & Roving Exhibition
  • Assist in school outreach programme
  • Perform office administration duties.

 

Date

 

  • 25 September - 31 October 2023
  • Five days per week from 8:30 to 17:30

  • Students may be required to work on the weekend or in the evening

 

Location

 

  • HKHS Corporate Office, 28/F, World Trade Centre, 280 Gloucester Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong
  • HKHS Exhibition Centre, Shop E, G/F, Prosperous Garden, 3 Public Square Street, Yau Ma Tei, Kowloon
  • Outdoor assignments will be given if necessary

 

Eligibility

 

PGDE (full-time) students of all majors who are passionate about inspiring young people to explore the housing development of Hong Kong

  • Complete the application form at HKU Moodle (Part 1) AND
  • Upload the following documents to the respective project folder at HKU Moodle (Part 2) (Please combine all documents into one Word/PDF file)
    1. A personal statement (of not more than 200 words) explaining why you would like to join this EL project
    2. Your CV.
  • Shortlisted students may be invited to attend an interview arranged by HKHS (details to be confirmed).

 

Remarks

 

HKHS will issue a certificate to the students upon completion of the internship.
