HKU Faculty of Education and Ningbo Education Bureau sign a Memorandum of Understanding to foster educational collaborations

The Faculty of Education (the Faculty) at The University of Hong Kong (HKU) and the Ningbo Education Bureau (the Bureau) have officially established a partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on November 23, 2023. The virtual signing ceremony was officiated by Professor Yang Rui, Dean of the Faculty and Professor Mao Caisheng, Party Secretary, Director General of the Ningbo Education Bureau. This partnership marks a significant milestone in promoting educational collaborations, encompassing teacher training, academic exchange, and joint research in education.

 

During Professor Yang Rui’s opening speech, he highlighted Ningbo’s prestigious education standards and its historical importance to the Maritime Silk Road.  He conveyed the Faculty’s aspiration to assume a more prominent role in the Belt and Road Initiative and foster enhanced cooperation through this partnership.

 

Professor Mao Caisheng emphasised the diversity of education institutions in Ningbo, highlighting the unique characteristics possessed by each of them. He expressed his anticipation that this collaboration would facilitate comprehensive exchanges in fields such as technology and humanities. 

 

The collaboration between the Faculty of Education at HKU and the Ningbo Education Bureau is expected to make significant contributions to the advancement of education and educational practices in both regions, benefiting students, researchers, and educators involved.
