We are delighted to share the news that Dr Lo Yuen Yi, Associate Dean (Learning & Teaching) of the Faculty, has been invited by the HKSAR Government to serve as one of the mentors in the Strive and Rise Programme.
Launched by the Task Force to Lift Underprivileged Students out of Intergenerational Poverty, the Programme has invited celebrities from various fields including Hong Kong Olympic medallists and well-known musicians to be the mentors of 2,000 junior secondary students living in subdivided flats. Through the mentors’ guidance, it is envisaged that the students will have a better understanding and knowledge about their desired careers, be able to set and achieve their life goals, and enrich their personal experiences.
Dr Lo strongly supports the Programme’s vision. She is keen to provide the target students with tactics to improve their English language proficiency. In addition, she would like to take the opportunity to share her own experience of embracing challenges and working towards her goals without many resources when she was a student.
