Education student receives award as a Top 10 Outstanding Tertiary Student of Hong Kong 2022

We are excited to share with you a piece of good news – Yue Hang Chi, Rachel, a Year 4 student from the Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Sciences programme, was selected as one of the Top 10 Outstanding Tertiary Students of Hong Kong 2022.

Aspiring to be a professional speech therapist, Rachel has been striving to help others, particularly children from new immigrant and non-local families, to express themselves in fluent Cantonese and pronounce Cantonese correctly. She is also devoted to voluntary work and founded a start-up providing speech therapy services.

After two rounds of interviews and public voting in May and June 2022, Rachel stood out among one hundred applicants and was selected as an award winner. On receiving news of her award, Rachel expressed her heartfelt appreciation of the support and guidance she received from teachers and friends from the Faculty.

This annual award is organised by the Hong Kong Youth & Tertiary Students Association. The award aims to recognise students’ academic excellence and contributions to the community, foster students’ holistic growth, and encourage them to act as role models in society.

We are so proud of you, Rachel! Congratulations!
