Shaping the Future of Education with AI: Community Engagement with King’s College

At the forefront of shaping the future of education through innovation and community partnership, the Faculty of Education was deeply honoured to participate in King’s College Centennial Anniversary Open Class on April 27, 2026 as the school celebrates its distinguished heritage of excellence and achievement. Representing the Faculty, Dr Arthur M. S. Lee (Lecturer, Academic Unit of Mathematics, Science, and Technology) and Dr Promail K. Y. Leung (Director, School-University Partnerships) joined a panel of education professionals in leading lively discussions on the timely theme of cultivating future-ready skills and preparing students in an AI-driven world.

With a focus on exploration and hands-on experience for students, the sessions delivered by Dr Lee and Dr Leung covered topics such as optimising design using mathematical modelling and AI as well as integrating AI scientific modelling into project-based STEAM. The interactive sessions also provided teachers with practical strategies for leveraging AI in lesson planning and design to enhance student motivation, engagement and learning outcomes.

Participants expressed strong appreciation for the sessions, commenting that they offered meaningful perspectives for reflection and enhancement of teaching practices. The Faculty’s School-University Partnerships Office is privileged to collaborate with King’s College, as well as the Office’s diverse network of school partners to promote continuous professional development and help elevate teaching and learning to new heights.
