The MA(TESOL) is a programme that integrates teaching and research. The curriculum covers more than just professional knowledge. It provides practical teaching skills and a semi-research experience, which profoundly explores my specialisation. The programme has prepared me to be a competent teacher and researcher for my career. For instance, when I needed to teach academic research, the process I had gone through in my programme taught me to teach from the students’ perspective. Most importantly, my professors have provided support beyond the class materials. Especially since I graduated, they’ve continued giving suggestions and confidence to me about research and teaching, as well as going further in my life.
