In April 2017, I received my acceptance from the Faculty of Education at the University of Hong Kong to join the MA(TESOL) programme in the class of 2018. Sitting at my library desk in Zurich, Switzerland, where I had lived and studied for 11 years, I knew that the coming months would change my life forever. And they did. The MA(TESOL) programme opened my eyes to the depth of language teaching beyond the theoretical. Every week I was faced with tackling a new challenge, structuring a new lesson plan, and finding the right balance for my classroom – wherever that ended up being. I am forever grateful to the brilliant professors and mentors – as well as the Faculty as a whole – for giving me a unique and unforgettable learning experience.
