HKU Faculty of Education 40th Anniversary Seminar Series –
Parents versus Preschools: Lessons from Hong Kong
The Faculty of Education at The University of Hong Kong will organise the seminar, entitled “Parents versus Preschools: Lessons from Hong Kong” on April 10, 2025 (Thursday). This seminar, as part of the 40th Anniversary Seminar Series, will be delivered by Professor Nirmala Rao and moderated by Professor Catherine K. K. Chan.
This seminar will explore the vital roles of parents and preschools in early childhood development, and examine the influences of parenting, teaching, and policy within Hong Kong’s education system.

Celebrating the 40th anniversary of HKU Faculty of Education, the Anniversary Seminar Series offers a historical narrative and a perspective on education that connects the Past, Present, and Future. The works of the Faculty are closely linked to the global community of educational research, while at the same time deeply rooted in Hong Kong local society. The seminars cover the major themes of research in the Faculty including Language Education, Early Childhood Education, Speech and Hearing Sciences, Information Technology, International and Comparative Education, and more.

香港大學教育學院將於2025年4月10日（星期四）舉辦主題為「從香港經驗比較家庭與學前機構教育」 (Parents versus Preschools: Lessons from Hong Kong) 的四十周年研討會，由本學院劉麗薇教授主講，並由陳嘉琪教授主持討論。
此研討會將探討家長和學前機構在兒童早期發展中的重要角色，並分析香港教育體系中家庭教育、教學及政策的影響。
