Updated on March 30, 2026 (Mon)

On 12 March 2026, the School-University Partnerships (SUP) Office hosted a delegation from the School of Education at the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) Macao for a day of professional dialogue and student exchange that enriched our understanding of teaching, learning and student life across regions.
Warm Welcome
The visit brought together academics, students and seasoned educators in a spirit of connection and shared commitment to education. In her welcome speech to the delegation led by Professor Isabel Tchiang (Dean of School of Education, USJ), Professor Lo Yuen Yi (Associate Dean (Learning & Teaching)) highlighted the fruitful ties between our institutions in fostering academic and student exchange. Since our first visit to USJ in 2024, our engagement has enabled us to learn from each other’s experiences and broadened our perspectives across university and school settings in Hong Kong and Macao.
School Visit
A highlight of the visit was a trip to Chiu Sheung School, Hong Kong, where USJ delegates and HKU student ambassadors observed lessons and met with school leadership. Participants expressed their appreciation for the invaluable opportunity to learn from passionate teachers as they observed teaching and learning in action in an engaging, nurturing environment. They were also inspired by the school’s dedication to educational excellence, which is reflected in many facets of the diverse learning community – from innovative curricula and pedagogical approaches to effective use of technology and a focus on learner engagement and well-being.
Student Exchange
The visit concluded with an exchange session where students from both institutions talked about the education system in their regions and shared their experiences of campus life including academic programmes, professional practicum, extracurricular activities and student support services. The conversations sparked keen interests in the different systems and the vibrant university life offered to help students thrive personally and professionally in an ever-evolving educational landscape.
Future Collaboration
In equipping aspiring teaching professionals to make a positive impact through education, the Faculty of Education values continued engagement with our diverse partners. The SUP Office is grateful to USJ for their visit and looks forward to further collaborative opportunities that lie ahead.
