Faculty Awards for Outstanding Researchers 2024-25 and 2025 Early Career Research Output Award

We are delighted to announce the results of the Faculty Awards for Outstanding Researchers 2024-25 and 2025 Faculty Early Career Research Output Award.

 

Professor Hugo Horta, Associate Professor of the Academic Unit of Social Contexts and Policies of Education, and Professor Zhang Xiao, Associate Professor of the Academic Unit of Human Communication, Learning, and Development, were selected for the Faculty Outstanding Researcher Awards for their outstanding research accomplishments.

 

Professor Jesus Datu, Associate Professor of the Academic Unit of Human Communication, Learning, and Development, received the Faculty Outstanding Young Researcher Award, which recognises the outstanding research accomplishments of young academic and research staff.

 

Professor Liz Jackson of the Academic Unit of Social Contexts and Policies of Education, won the Faculty Outstanding Research Student Supervisor Award for the highly effective supervisory guidance she provides to her research postgraduate students.

 

Professor William Choi, Assistant Professor of the Academic Unit of Human Communication, Learning, and Development was awarded the Faculty Early Career Research Output Award, with his excellent journal publication: “Examining the cognitive and perceptual perspectives of music-to-language transfer: A study of Cantonese-English bilingual children,” co-authored with Dr Veronica Lai, Dr Eric Kong, and Professor Alfredo Bautista published in Journal of Experimental Child Psychology.
