Shenzhen Nanshan District Principal Training Programme

On December 1-2, 2025, the Faculty of Education at The University of Hong Kong hosted its inaugural professional training programme for principals from the Shenzhen Nanshan District Education Bureau. This two-day programme marked a significant milestone in the strategic partnership established in 2023 between the Faculty and the Shenzhen Nanshan District Education Bureau, reflecting both parties’ shared commitment to advancing educational leadership and deepening cross-border collaboration.

The programme brought together educators and principals to explore six key areas: the interplay between Chinese and Western educational theories and practices; school-based curriculum design and implementation; planning and execution of co-curricular activities; emerging trends in global education; the organisation and management of blended and collaborative learning; and the applications of artificial intelligence in education.

By exploring these themes, participating principals gained new perspectives and practical strategies to support school development and advance technology-enhanced teaching and learning. The initiative not only fostered shared innovative pedagogical approaches, but also strengthened ties between the education sectors of Hong Kong and Shenzhen.
