Hong Kong is home to more than 300,000 non‑Chinese residents, many of whom have been part of the city’s fabric since the early 19^th century.  Yet unequal opportunities persist – often because learning Chinese is difficult for second‑language learners and because language and cultural barriers remain common in schools.

CantoGather responds to this reality by providing high‑quality language and intercultural education.  Guided by experienced educators, CantoGather has developed a differentiated, activity‑based curriculum tailored for primary school students learning Chinese and Cantonese as a second language.  The programme also introduces learners to the diverse cultures and communities that make up Hong Kong.

By joining this course, students will step into a local primary school and teach Chinese and Cantonese to second‑language learners in small groups (1:1–5).  Throughout the experience, students will deepen their understanding of themselves, strethening their teaching practice, and the South and Southeast Asian communities around us.

This course is an invitation to help build a more inclusive and connected Hong Kong – one where CommUnity becomes a reality for everyone.
