Professor Cecilia Chan receives the Faculty Knowledge Exchange Award 2026

We are pleased to announce that Professor Cecilia Chan in the Faculty’s Academic Unit of Social Contexts and Policies of Education has received the Faculty Knowledge Exchange (KE) Award 2026. This award recognises Professor Chan’s contributions to linking academic research with practice and reflects the Faculty’s commitment to engagement beyond the university.

Professor Chan’s project “AI Policy and Literacy in Education” has demonstrated strong impact locally, regionally, and internationally through the effective translation of research into policies, frameworks, tools, and educational practices. Since the public release of ChatGPT, Professor Chan has rapidly developed influential research, literacy instruments, courses, resources, and AI-enabled tools that directly support responsible and ethical integration of generative AI in education, benefiting a wide range of stakeholders, including educational institutions, teachers, students, policymakers, and industry partners.

The Faculty KE Awards were introduced in 2011 to recognise the outstanding KE accomplishment within each Faculty that has had demonstrable economic, social or cultural impacts to benefit the community, business/industry, or partner organisations. The selection criteria include the quality of the underpinning research and the evidence-supported impact, the effectiveness of engagement beyond academia, and the demonstration of cross- and multi-disciplinary impacts.
