Before serving at HKU:

 

Dr. TSE was a Curriculum Support Officer at the Curriculum Development Institute of the Education Bureau, Hong Kong, mainly responsible for research and development of STEM education, especially through leading related: 1) investigations on the implementation of STEM education in primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong: curriculum planning, implementation measures, learning, teaching and assessment strategies, impact on student learning, professional development and support measures received by schools; 2) teacher professional programmes; 3) school-support on designing instruction and school development plan.

 

He served as a Part-time Lecturer, Course Developer or Tutor at the University of Hong Kong and the Open University of Hong Kong for teaching or developing postgraduate and undergraduate courses about STEM education, Information Technology in Education, Learning and Teaching in Small Class Environment, providing related on-site training and consultation on instructional design to over 50 schools.

 

He was an Instructor at the Centre for Learning Sciences and Technologies, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He taught or co-taught seven modules of the Master of Arts Programme in Information Technology in Education. While teaching this programme, he supervised eight postgraduate students in completing their annual research projects and some of them were presented at academic conferences. He also taught or co-taught Information Technology in education courses in Postgraduate Diploma in Education programme and Bachelor of Education programme. In addition to teaching the postgraduate and undergraduate programmes, he taught eight Information Technology in Education Refresher Training Courses open to primary and secondary school teachers in Hong Kong, commissioned by the Education Bureau.

 

Prior to working at the Education Bureau and universities, he served as a Teacher of General Studies, English Language, Chinese Language, and Computer Studies at Kowloon Rhenish School, leading the development of the Information Technology Committee there.
