UMAH NCS Chinese Digital Learning & Community Educational Outreach Project (NEW)

Background of Co-organiser

The United Muslim Association of Hong Kong (UMAH) is a registered charity and community organisation in Hong Kong established to provide religious, educational and social services for people of all faiths. While UMAH was founded to primarily serve the Muslim community, the organisation’s mission has expanded to include outreach and programming for the broader Hong Kong population.

Objectives

Produce supplementary standalone Chinese learning materials aligned with the WE Project’s P1-P3 CSL formal curriculum.
Operate UMAH’s official Facebook and Instagram educational channels to sustain daily out-of-class Chinese learning for NCS children.
Design interactive booth games, flashcards, clip-cards and teaching props for school promotional roadshow events.
Develop short educational tutorial videos and bi-weekly Chinese vocabulary posts for social media release.
Assist questionnaire distribution, data collation and parent outreach surveys for UMAH’s internal education research.

Project Details

Design supplementary worksheets, flashcards, clip-cards and educational booth games for school roadshow activities.
Manage UMAH Facebook and Instagram accounts: publish bi-weekly Chinese word/phrase educational posts aligned with the P1-P3 syllabus.
Film and edit short Chinese-learning tutorial videos for social media release.
Distribute research questionnaires to NCS parents, organise and summarise collected survey data.
Support UMAH school visits, promotional booth setup and offline parent education sharing sessions.

Date

October 12 to November 17, 2026
Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm
Special working hours:
- Saturday morning work required on an ad-hoc basis; compensatory leave will be provided in accordance with HKU EL regulations.
- Highly flexible work-from-home arrangement: Most content creation and design tasks can be completed remotely; on-site attendance is only required for offline events.
Project timeline :
- Week 1: UMAH service briefing, content guideline alignment and tool training.
- Week 2-5: Content creation, social media updating, teaching prop design, questionnaire collation and mandatory tripartite progress review meeting.
- Final week: Social media performance report compilation and project wrap-up.

Location

Base office: UMAH Tuen Mun Office
Remote work is the default for social media management, video editing, teaching material design and data analysis
Field visits: Partner primary schools and NGO centres across Tuen Mun, Tin Shui Wai, Yuen Long and Jordan (only for offline outreach events)

Eligibility

PGDE (full-time) students, preferably majoring in Primary Education, Chinese Education or Chinese as Second Language (CSL) related.

Applicants with past experience in NCS teaching, learning material production or social media educational content creation are preferred.
All successful candidates must submit a valid SCRC (Sexual Conviction Record Check) certificate before the commencement of the placement.

1. A short write-up explaining your insights on ethnic minority community education
2. Your updated CV and cover letter
Shortlisted students may be invited to attend an interview arranged by m-Chinese Solutions Limited (details to be confirmed).

Remarks

Interns will gain hands-on experience in community-based education and digital content creation for ethnic minority families.
You will have autonomy to design educational materials and social media content that directly benefit NCS children.
