Background of Co-organiser

Buddhist To Chi Fat She Yeung Yat Lam Memorial School (mild grades intellectual disabilities) currently teaches Primary 1 to Secondary 6 students and there are 16 classes with 240 students in total.

As a HKU CAiSE SAME Network Project School, the school promotes inclusive education and catering of diversity needs, and the two foci in 2021-2024 are:

developing “learning, teaching and evaluation” to cater for students’ learning diversity and enhance the effectiveness of learning and teaching
establishing systematic and comprehensive growth support to cultivate students’ positive values.

Objectives

Apply “Technology Enhanced Learning” and “Engagement model” in teaching

Project Details

Details of work assigned to students:

Try out up-to-date learning approaches with school teachers
Experience the cycle of teaching, learning and assessment of students with learning disabilities
Co-plan and co-teach as a supporting role
Prepare teaching and learning materials.

Eligibility

PGDE (full-time) students of all majors, preferably with interest in Special Education and keen on technology application in teaching and learning
