Background of Co-organiser

 

World Vision Hong Kong is a Christian humanitarian organisation working to create lasting change in the lives of children, families and communities living in poverty. Their Global Citizenship Programme aims to inspire students to be agents of change in the fight against global poverty.

 

Objectives

 

To foster a sense of global citizenship among Hong Kong students, World Vision Hong Kong provides various school-based educational services and online resources. These include awareness programmes, vision talks, experiential workshops and engagement activities for primary and secondary students. PGDE placement students have the opportunity to participate in the design and implementation of these services and resources, and to learn how to care for the world’s vulnerable communities and combat global poverty.

 

Project Details

 

Details of work assigned to students:

 

  • Design an out-of-school experiential learning activity for secondary school students
  • Participate in the video production of children puppet show and preparation of auxiliary activities
  • Assist in delivering educational talks or activities at schools.

 

Date

 

  • 25 September - 31 October 2023
  • Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 6:30pm

 

Location

 

World Vision Hong Kong Office in Tai Kok Tsui

 

Eligibility

 

PGDE (full-time) students of all majors who are:

 

  • Passionate about raising students’ awareness of global poverty and humanitarian issues
  • Interested in puppet performance and video shooting/production
  • Preferably having some experience in designing and organising experiential learning activities.

  • Shortlisted students may be invited to attend an interview arranged by World Vision Hong Kong (details to be confirmed).
