Background of Co-organiser

 

The Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF (UNICEF HK) was founded in 1986 and established as an independent local non-governmental organisation to raise funds and advocate for child rights. We are recruiting high calibre interns to support education and youth engagement projects of the organisation.

 

Objectives

 

UNICEF HK invites students from the University of Hong Kong to support our education works under Advocacy and Community Outreach Department. Don’t miss this valuable opportunity to get hands-on experience in all aspects of education practices in an international charitable organisation.

 

Project Details

 

  • Assist in planning, executing and evaluating the school programme
  • Support in conducting school talk and evaluation
  • Develop e-learning content or activities for students to raise awareness towards SDGs and child rights
  • Translate and modify education materials for local adaptation
  • Assist in administration work which are related to school and youth programmes
  • Work in any other assigned duties

 

Date

 

  • 23 September - 29 October 2024
  • Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm

  • Students are required to work five full days per week and may be required to work on weekends

 

Location

 

Head Office, Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF in Fortress Hill, or kindergartens, primary and secondary school(s)

 

Eligibility

 

PGDE (full-time) students of all majors who have the following qualities:

 

  • Strong desire to learn new things
  • Organised, responsible and self-initiated
  • Able to work under remote supervision, in fast pace and under pressure;
  • A good team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese (including both Mandarin and Cantonese)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Zoom
  • Knowledgeable in Canva and other graphic design or page layout software is a plus.

    1. A personal statement (of not more than 200 words) explaining why you would like to join this EL project
    2. Your updated CV.
  • Shortlisted students may be invited to attend an interview arranged by UNICEF HK, and the offer will be subject to the interview performance.
