Breakthrough

“Being | Creativity” Youth Development Project (New)

Background of Community Partner

Breakthrough is a non-profit making organisation providing cultural and educational services for young people. Anchored on Christian faith, we care for the wholistic development of the young generation, help them unveil their potential, and guide them in becoming leaders for the 21st century. We strongly believe that young people possess the qualities of a leader, regardless of gender, personal and cultural background. The most important point is whether those around the youngsters offer them affirmation and encouragement to help them bring out their potential and creativity.

Project Objectives

Being│Creativity is a youth arts and culture co-creation programme under Breakthrough. It seeks to empower young people to engage with diverse stakeholders in society and with peers who possess different resources and skills. Grounded in the concept of Relational Being, the programme encourages participants to learn how to become resources and gifts to one another, and to exercise their creativity together amid social challenges in order to co-create new possibilities.

Being│Creativity comprises arts and cultural co-creation camps for secondary school students and artists, as well as artist-in-residence collaborative exhibition projects, with themes that reflect issues and areas of concern for young people.
