Experiential Learning

BBED6809 Happiness x 4Rs Mental Health School Project – Art-based Experiential Learning (New)
Project Details
This course aims to equip student teachers with practical skills and strategies to promote happiness and well-being in schools. In response to the growing concerns about students’ happiness, mental health and well-being, especially in the post-Covid era, schools are prioritising mental health as a primary concern. Through EDB-funded well-being campaigns, schools are collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance happiness of students, teachers and parents. The 4Rs framework - Rest, Relationship, Relaxation and Resilience - has been implemented in schools, highlighting the importance of promoting happiness among students.
Partnering with an experienced NGO specialising in art therapy, student teachers will assist the facilitator(s) in conducting activities using various art forms such as photography (for self-image and relationship building), art and craft making (for mindfulness, reconciliation, counseling, etc.) They will also design and lead their own sessions. Participants are required to actively participate in the after-school Other Learning Experience sessions, deliver multimedia presentations, and compile reflective journals and ePortfolios to showcase their learning experiences.
