Prospective PhD/ EdD/ MPhil Applications

I am available to supervise PhD/EdD/MPhil students and would welcome enquiries for supervision.

Primary research interest is clinical voice science and disorders. The majority of research has taken a functional perspective and is framed by the health classification scheme of the World Health Organization's International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF). The long-term goal is to develop theory-driven voice assessment and treatment protocols to enhance patient's functional voice communication and hence quality of life.

Key research areas include:

  • Voice problems in children
  • Application of motor learning theory in vocal skills acquisition
  • Functional communication in communication disorders
  • Instrumental (acoustic and physiological) voice analysis
