Abstract
This presentation introduces the European project SEL4@ll: Promoting well-being among European adolescents – an inclusive and digital programme to strengthen socio-emotional competencies. The initiative aims to foster students’ well-being and inclusion through the development of a serious game and complementary teaching materials available in multiple languages. Following a co-creation approach, SEL4@ll actively engages students- including those with fewer opportunities—in designing and shaping the digital learning experience.
In this talk, Dr. Schoeps will present an integrated overview of the project, combining theoretical, developmental, and empirical perspectives. The presentation will outline the socio-emotional education (SEE) framework underpinning SEL4@ll, describe the design and technical features of the serious game, and share key findings from the co-creation process with students across Europe. Quantitative and qualitative results will highlight the program’s effectiveness in enhancing adolescents’ socio-emotional skills, sense of belonging, and overall well-being. The session concludes by discussing implications for inclusive education and the use of digital tools to promote resilience and social competence among young people in diverse European classrooms and beyond.
