This talk will focus on sharing recent publications in comparative education that may give hope for the future in our current difficult geo-political times. One of them is a new book from the World Council of Comparative Education Societies, entitled Diversity of Voices in Making History in Comparative and International Education: Critical and Forward-Looking Perspectives from World Regions, with co-authored chapters from nine world regions. Another is The Bloomsbury Handbooks of Crises and Transformative Leadership in Higher Education, with four volumes dealing with Values and Ethical Change, Context, Crises and the Ethics of Care. It is co-edited by Mary Drinkwater and Yusef Waghid, with chapters from scholars around the world. The talk will be followed by a dialogue featuring Professor Hayhoe and members of the HKU Faculty of Education. During this discussion, they will explore related research and share reflections on how we can maintain hope and move towards a preferred future in these difficult times.
