Abstract 講座摘要

China’s pursuit of modernisation and its ambition to become a leading nation in education call for the development of a self-reliant higher education system committed to excellence. This lecture traces the Chinese Mainland’s efforts to build such a system since the beginning of the twenty-first century, examining the achievements and challenges encountered along the way. Drawing on relevant theoretical framework, it explores the driving forces and distinctive pathways shaping this process and considers future directions for Chinese higher education.

中國式現代化和建設教育強國，要求構建自強卓越的高等教育體系。本次講座回顧新世紀以來中國內地構建自強卓越的高等教育體系的歷程，探究構建這一體系過程中取得的成就和面臨的挑戰，結合有關理論框架，闡釋中國內地構建自強卓越的高等教育體系的動力和獨特路徑，並探討中國高等教育的未來發展方向。

Jiang Kai is a Boya Distinguished Professor at Peking University and Dean of its Graduate School of Education. He is a member of the Education Discipline Review Group of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, a Distinguished Professor of the National Major Talent Program, and Editor-in-Chief of Peking University Education Review. He previously served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at The University of Hong Kong and a senior research scholar at Havard University. He is a four-time recipient of the Outstanding Achievement Award for Scientific Research in Higher Education Institutions (Humanities and Social Sciences) granted by the Ministry of Education. He also serves as Vice Chair of the Higher Education Studies Committee of the China Association of Higher Education, and as an Editorial Board Member of Contemporary Social Science, the journal of the UK Academy of Social Sciences.

蔣凱，北京大學博雅特聘教授、教育學院院長，國務院學位委員會教育學學科評議組成員，《北京大學教育評論》主編，曾任香港大學博士後研究員。獲高等學校科學研究優秀成果獎（人文社會科學），兼任中國高等教育學會高等教育學專業委員會副理事長、英國社會科學院院刊Contemporary Social Science編委。
