Panel Discussion

AI & Cross‑Cultural Intelligence

This panel explores how artificial intelligence intersects with cross-cultural intelligence in both theory and practice. As AI systems increasingly mediate communication, decision-making, and learning across borders, how are cultural values, norms, and contexts evolving? Speakers will reflect on how AI can either bridge or widen cultural divides, and how institutions can foster culturally aware AI development and deployment. The discussion will also consider the role of multilingual technologies, ethical frameworks, and inclusive design in ensuring AI serves diverse global communities equitably.

  • Professor Li Wei, University College London
  • Professor Yang Rui, The University of Hong Kong
  • Professor Helen Meng, The Chinese University of Hong Kong

Moderator: Mr Benjamin Meunier, The Chinese University of Hong Kong

The discussion will explore what is gained and what may be lost in integrating AI into pedagogy, including impact on teacher roles, student agency, and cross-cultural understanding in the classroom.
