Introduction

The Academic Unit of Teacher Education and Learning Leadership (TELL) brings together research and teaching expertise in the areas of Chinese and English language education, mathematics education, science education, humanities education, early childhood education, educational psychology, school guidance and counselling, special education, and information technology in education.

 

TELL members conduct research supported by a wide range of funding bodies, including the Research Grants Council (RGC), Education Bureau, Quality Education Fund, Standing Committee on Language Education and Research (SCOLAR), and the H.K. Jockey Club Charities Trust. These projects support educational research in the areas such as language education, digital citizenship, teacher professional development, early childhood education, special education, and STEM education, among others. The Unit colleagues are active members of the Centre for Advancement of Chinese Language Education and Research (CACLER)Centre for Advancement in Inclusive and Special Education (CAISE)Centre for Educational Leadership (CEL), Centre for Information Technology in Education (CITE); and the Consortium for Research on Language Policy and Practice (CRLPP).

 

TELL prides itself in having members who publish with the world’s top academic publishers and who serve as editors and associate editors of leading international peer-reviewed journals. The Academic Unit is also honored with recipients of University awards for outstanding teaching, the RGC Humanities and Social Sciences Prestigious Fellowship, the World Outstanding Chinese Award, Changjiang Scholarship, as well as Eastern Scholarship.
