Programme Overview

Why do BEd&BSc?
  • To pursue your interest in science from a broad range of Science Majors.
  • To develop your expertise in teaching science and nurturing individuals.
  • To identify and reflect critically upon contemporary issues in science and education.
  • To develop personal strengths and professional commitment to education.
  • To complete two degrees in five years. The teaching qualification is regarded equivalent of a BSc plus a Postgraduate Diploma in Education.

Career Prospects

What careers can BEd&BSc lead to ?
  • Teaching science-related subjects in secondary or possibly tertiary sectors in Hong Kong.
  • Scientific researchers and personnel in tertiary institutions and government sectors.
  • Working as officers and curriculum developers in different educational bodies, such as the Education Bureau.
  • Educational publication and editing service.
  • Many career prospects of BEd&BSc graduates.

Programme Structure

The programme is full-time, extending over five years. Students are required to complete courses worth 300 credit units, allocated as set out below.

School and non-school applicants should submit their applications via the JUPAS website at http://www.jupas.edu.hk from 25 September 2012 (9:00 am) onwards.

How to Apply

JUPAS candidates :

Secondary 6 students and candidates wishing to apply on the strength of their HKDSE results should apply through the Joint University Programmes Admissions System (JUPAS) using Programme Code 6119 (BEd&BSc).

Non-JUPAS Candidates:

Other candidates, e.g. from international schools, overseas or mature applicants, may apply directly to the University (Non-JUPAS) via the on-line application system at:
