Biography
Dr Eadaoin K P HUI is Associate Professor and a chartered educational psychologist, known for her research in school guidance and counselling, affective education, and teacher stress, students’ and teachers’ perception of students’ problems and attribution. Her recent research is in conceptualization of forgiveness, forgiveness education, student school and life satisfaction, and positive youth development. Her work appears in British Journal of Guidance and Counselling, Educational Psychology, Journal of Adolescence, International Journal for the Advancement of Counselling, Educational Research, Pastoral Psychology.Dr Hui teaches in the area of school guidance and counselling and educational psychology. She has established ‘Educational Guidance and Counselling’ as a distinct and distinguished teaching area at HKU and has been course co-ordinator of the M.Ed. (Educational Guidance) since 1993.
As consultant to the Educational Psychological Services in Primary and Secondary Schools sponsored by the Hong Kong Catholic Diocese, she successfully launched the application of a systems approach based on ecological theory in EP service delivery. She also contributes actively to school management and the promotion of leadership in values education.

The module examines the delivery of guidance from a systems perspective. Theories, research and application of guidance as a whole-school approach are introduced.
Supporting Students in Distress
This module examines ways of identifying, guiding and helping students in distress. Theories, research and practices in this area will be introduced.
